How did I get interested in Computer Science?
I got interest in computer science through being fascinated with technology and how applicable it can be for learning more about the world around us and how it can aid lives. Originally, I wanted to learn about how I could use computer science with environmental data, hence being a Computer Science & Geography & Geographic Information Science major. Furthermore, I want to continue learning about how Computer Science can be used to create models to continue expanding our learning and knowledge about the world.

What social interests matter to me?
Community involvement, volunteering, environmental conservation, human rights, animal rights, youth development, community development

What is my most impactful college experience?
My most impactful college experience has been joining the Vietnamese Student Association, also known as VSA. I have been involved in this org for just over 2 years now and have build an incredibly loving and supportive community. I believe it is important for everyone to have their own community that continuously builds each other up and encourages on another to further everyone's overall development and to have a group of people to support each other.

These are a few of my favorite things!
A few of my favorite things are mushrooms, plants, cooking, baking, and crocheting!

Research Description
This semester, I am working on recreating the iClicker, which will take in real-time student submissions to instantly update a database and create data visualizations. I will mainly be working on the backend of this app where I will be creating test cases so we can ensure they continue passing as we expand the app's functionalities.

Biography
I am Emily Ho and I am from Evanston, Illinois. Throughout my childhood, I was always interested in STEM, including subjects like math, physics and biology. However, as I got older, I realized I was more interest in technology and the applications of it. With this, I became more involved with the environment and how humans are impacting the planet, sparking my interest in environmental science and policy. Though my current directions in live have veered from this, it is something I am still relatively interested in and I would love to do work regarding environmental conservation. In my free time, I enjoy crocheting stuffed animals, where I have created a plethora of crocheted animals as well as Appa from the show
